(TENAFLY, NJ) – The upcoming Tribute to the Kings, a special night honoring the first family of Mexican boxing – Julio Cesar Chavez, Sr., Julio Cesar Chavez, Jr., and Omar Chavez – will air on cable, satellite, digital Pay-Per-View, and in sports bars, restaurants, movie theatres, and drive-in theatres on Saturday, June 19 at 9 p.m. eastern. Emanating from the Jalisco Stadium in Guadalajara, Mexico, Tribute to the Kings features MMA superstar, Anderson Silva against former world middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez, Jr. in an eight-round light heavyweight bout; Ramon Alvarez and Omar Chavez will fight for the third time in a 10 -round middleweight bout; Kevin Torres (17-1-1, 14 KOs) will take on a yet-to-be-named opponent in an eight-round junior welterweight bout; and an exciting title fight pitting Damian Sosa (17-1, 10 KOs) against undefeated Abel Mina (13-0, 7 KOs) for the WBO Super Welterweight Latino Championship.
The live Pay-Per-View “Tribute to the Kings” also includes the historic six-round exhibition bout with Julio Cesar Chavez, Sr. who makes his final ring appearance against Hector Camacho, Jr., who will be honoring the legacy of his late Boxing Hall of Fame father, Hector “Macho” Camacho. This special Mexico vs. Puerto Rico fight is a revenge of the September 12, 1992 fight when Chavez defeated Camacho’s father.
