Honduras will be progressing to the third round of CONCACAF qualification for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. The team qualified for the Hexagonal round by finishing first in their second-round group, which included Panama, Canada, and Cuba.

The Peru national football team competes against the other nine members of FIFA’s CONMEBOL conference, which encompasses the countries of South America. La Blanquirroja, as the team is known to fans, has played at four FIFA World Cup finals. Currently the team is ranked 37th in the FIFA standings as of October 2012.
